About Us

B & L Automotive was founded 3 years ago in Sparta, Tennessee to treat customers with respect and fix their vehicles right the first time. This philosophy works pretty well, considering that we now have a larger shop to meet every person’s needs and every vehicle’s needs. Our owner, Brian Putney, learned all about mechanic work at the heels of his father in a small town in the Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania. Brian started turning wrenches in 1980 at the age of 15. Since then, technology and vehicles have changed and Brian has changed with it. He is a master auto technician. He has worked in a small shop on daily drivers, both diesel and gasoline, of all makes and models. He has also worked in some high-end shops in Naples, Florida on ultra luxury and performance cars including Bentleys, Maseratis and Rolls Royces.
